Employee of the Month: May 2025

Mark Keating – A Calm Presence in a Critical Moment

What was already shaping up to be a challenging day for Mark Keating on site at 20 Chapel Street quickly became something far more serious.

During a nearby incident on Water Street during the Liverpool Title Parade, several distressed individuals sought refuge inside the building.

Without hesitation, Mark brought them inside, comforted them, and stayed with them until they felt safe to leave. His calm, compassionate response went well beyond his day-to-day responsibilities, showing true professionalism and humanity in the face of crisis.

Paul O’Shaughnessy, Operations Manager at Impact Services, presented Mark with the Employee of the Month award for May, in recognition of his outstanding response and unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of others.

Customer Reference: “What was already going to be a tough day for Mark Keating on site at 20 chapel street, was made even harder with the events that followed. I passed by the building a number of times as I was at an event in the Mercure hotel. I saw a few people inside the entrance way and mark speaking to a few of them but thought they must have been sheltering from the rain or that they were customers of Bean coffee. It wasn’t until the end of the day when I returned to building and found what exactly had happened. The people inside weren’t sheltering from the rain, they had escaped the incident on Water Street and were hysterical with panic. Mark got them inside comforted them calmed them down and stayed with these people until they felt safe to leave. He went above and beyond his duties to ensure the safety of a number of people. He could have easily ignored their cries for help instead he decided to help them.”

Mark’s actions are a powerful reminder of the impact one person can have — and a testament to the values we strive to uphold at Impact Services.

Thank you, Mark.
